In the early evening of November 18, 2023, a dispute in the parking lot of a Price Cutter grocery store on East St. Louis Street in Springfield, Missouri, ended in the tragic death of 25-year-old Nathan Williams. The young man, a resident of Springfield, was involved in a disturbance with a woman who was armed with a handgun. As the situation escalated, the woman discharged her weapon, striking Williams.
