On January 27, 2024, Kerry Carter, a 49-year-old resident of St. Louis, Missouri, was found deceased in an SUV that had collided with a light pole at the intersection of South 7th Street and Chouteau Avenue, south of downtown St. Louis. Upon arrival, first responders discovered that Carter had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
