In the quiet neighborhood of Castle Point in unincorporated north St. Louis County, the evening of September 18, 2021, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Just after 7:30 p.m., the advanced ShotSpotter system, designed to detect and locate gunshots, alerted the St. Louis County Police Department to an incident in the 10300 block of Royal Drive.
