On March 7, 2024, 19-year-old Kalob Lee Ruth and 17-year-old Carlos Gonzalez were fatally shot in a wooded area within Kansas City, Missouri. Both victims were transported to the University of Kansas Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
The Kansas City Police Department initiated an investigation into the double homicide. An adult male was taken into custody for further questioning, and authorities indicated they were not seeking additional suspects at that time.
