In June 2024, a brutal series of events unfolded near Richwoods, Missouri, leading to the tragic death of 43-year-old Amy Hogue. According to court documents and law enforcement reports, the female victim had been staying at the residence of her ex-boyfriend, Tony Lawrence Charboneau, in Washington County. On June 20, a verbal argument between the two escalated into physical violence. Authorities allege that Charboneau punched and stomped on Hogue before enlisting the help of his current girlfriend, Brandi Luffy. Together, the pair reportedly forced the injured woman into a wheelchair and bound her hands and feet using ratchet straps.
While Hogue was restrained, the couple allegedly gathered tools, including shovels, a pickax, a tarp, and a firearm, loading them into a vehicle. Investigators stated that they then transported her to a wooded area on the property. As Luffy acted as a lookout, Charboneau dug a shallow grave. The allegations detail a harrowing conclusion where Charboneau shot Hogue in the head before burying her under dirt, large rocks, and tree limbs. Following the killing, the suspects reportedly attempted to conceal their actions by burning the straps and tarp used during the crime and disposing of the victim's purse in a river in neighboring Jefferson County.

On August 2, authorities recovered Hogue's remains, confirming she had suffered a gunshot wound to the skull.
