On the afternoon of January 17, 2016, a tragedy unfolded in the North St. Louis neighborhood of Missouri involving a 14-year-old female named Jamayha Luss. She was an eighth-grade student at Gateway Middle School who was known for her dedication to her studies and her aspirations of becoming a professional dancer. That Sunday, she was visiting a friend’s home located in the 5300 block of Patton Avenue. The gathering took a turn when two teenage boys arrived at the residence to visit the group.
