On October 21, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., Kansas City, Missouri, police officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Roberts Street and Bales Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds, who was promptly transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Shortly thereafter, another individual, identified as 43-year-old Harold Brown, arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead.
