Detective Frank E. Hermanson, a member of the Kansas City Police Department, was tragically killed on June 17, 1933, during an event known as the Kansas City Massacre. This incident occurred when the notorious Pretty Boy Floyd gang attempted to free their associate, Frank Nash, who was being transported from Oklahoma to the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas.
