In the spring of 1901, a dedicated officer's life was tragically cut short in Kansas City, Missouri. Patrolman Joseph Zannelli, a 32-year-old male of Italian-American descent, was the first of his heritage to serve on the Kansas City Police Department. His brief but impactful career came to a devastating end following an incident on April 27, 1901.
