Joseph Zannelli, a 32-year-old patrolman with the Kansas City Police Department, tragically died on May 19, 1901, following an incident that occurred on April 27, 1901. On that day, Patrolman Zannelli was in pursuit of a man wanted for assaulting a streetcar conductor near 5th and Holmes.
