In the early morning hours of January 6, 2023, the life of 33-year-old Khalif McDaniel was cut short by gunfire in Newark, New Jersey. The incident occurred at approximately 12:22 a.m. in the 500 block of South Orange Avenue, near South 20th Street. Newark police officers responded to a report of a shooting and discovered McDaniel at the scene, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
