On January 7, 2023, at approximately 8:45 p.m., 31-year-old Eric Cecilia of Leesburg, New Jersey, was fatally shot in a double shooting incident in Camden. The incident occurred on the 3200 block of Saunders Avenue, where police responded to a ShotSpotter notification and discovered Cecilia and a 20-year-old male victim from Camden City, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
