In the early morning hours of February 22, 2023, a 911 call shattered the pre-dawn quiet in Gloucester Township, New Jersey, reporting a shooting on the 800 block of the North Black Horse Pike. When officers arrived at the scene around 3:05 a.m., they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Tarik Green, a Black male from Millville. He was rushed to Jefferson Hospital in nearby Stratford, but tragically, he was pronounced deceased at 4:43 a.m.
