On the evening of Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, a verbal altercation in Orlando, Florida, escalated into a fatal shooting, claiming the life of 35-year-old Edwin Collazo. The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Bethune Drive. Orlando Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting and, upon arrival, discovered Collazo suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was immediately transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the death of the 35-year-old male quickly pointed to a suspect. Authorities identified 43-year-old Dancing Days Pacheco Santana as the individual who had been in an argument with Collazo just before the shooting. The dispute reportedly turned physical, at which point Pacheco Santana is alleged to have shot Collazo before leaving the scene. Two days later, on Tuesday, April 7, Dancing Days Pacheco Santana was taken into custody on charges unrelated to the shooting. Following his arrest and identification as the suspect in Collazo's death, he was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The Orlando Police Department confirmed the arrest and charges, stating that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
