In the city of Camden, New Jersey, a community was shaken by the violent and untimely death of 33-year-old Terrance Dickerson, a Black male. On the evening of January 24, 2024, the sound of gunfire pierced the night in the 700 block of Ramona Gonzalez Street. The Camden County Police Department was first alerted to the shooting at approximately 9:05 p.m.
through a ShotSpotter activation.
Shortly after the gunshots were detected, a male victim, later identified as Terrance Dickerson, arrived at Cooper University Hospital suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Dickerson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 10:00 p.m. that same evening. The incident has been ruled a homicide, and an active and ongoing investigation was launched by detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and the Camden County Police Department.
As of late 2025, no arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting of Terrance Dickerson, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. Law enforcement officials continue to appeal to the public for any information that may lead to the apprehension of the individual or individuals responsible for his death.
