On April 7, 2024, at approximately 9 p.m., a shooting occurred near Central Avenue and Bowers Street in Jersey City, New Jersey. Upon arrival, officers found two victims with gunshot wounds: 25-year-old Freddie Posey and a 30-year-old woman, both from Jersey City. Posey was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 9:30 p.m. The female victim was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
