On the evening of May 1, 2024, Jerome Francis, 43, of Hamilton, New Jersey, was fatally shot in Trenton. Around 7:45 p.m., Trenton police responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple gunshots near Prospect Street and Pennington Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Francis in the driver's seat of a blue Infiniti QX60 with gunshot wounds to the chest. The vehicle exhibited significant front-end damage, and several airbags had deployed.
