In the afternoon of January 27, 2023, a burst of gunfire in the 1300 block of St. Paul Street in Richmond, Virginia, left two men fatally wounded. One of these men was 30-year-old Tyresse Cleo Robinson, a male resident of Richmond. The incident unfolded around 3:10 p.m., prompting a swift response from Richmond Police officers who were in the vicinity and heard the gunshots.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered one of the men, later identified as 25-year-old Terry Brown Jr., suffering
from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Shortly thereafter, Tyresse Cleo Robinson arrived at the same hospital, also with a gunshot wound. Despite medical efforts, both men succumbed to their injuries.
Subsequent investigation by the Richmond Police Department determined that the event was a shootout. Detectives concluded that Terry Brown Jr. shot Tyresse Robinson, resulting in his death. Immediately following this, Brown himself was shot by an unknown individual or individuals who then fled the scene. The police have identified Robinson as the city's third homicide victim of 2023.
