On February 24, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Lynchburg, Virginia, resulting in the death of 12-year-old Malayshia Solomon. The Lynchburg Police responded to a shooting at a residence on the 1400 block of Monroe Street. Malayshia was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital, where she succumbed to injuries from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
