On the night of March 3, 2023, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Alexandria Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of South Reynolds Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old Kyren Eley, a non-resident of Alexandria, suffering from trauma to his upper body. Officers administered first aid until rescue personnel arrived, after which Eley was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
