On March 25, 2023, 20-year-old Javier Gomez was fatally shot in his apartment on Viera Lane in Fairfax, Virginia. A family member, awakened by a gunshot, discovered Gomez in the living room with a gunshot wound to his upper body and observed an individual fleeing the scene. Emergency responders transported Gomez to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
