In the early hours of May 12, 2023, the life of 19-year-old James T. Joseph Killebrew was tragically cut short in Suffolk, Virginia. The young man, a male, was found shot to death in what authorities are investigating as a homicide.

A second call, received a little over half an hour later, reported a person had been shot.
Upon their arrival at the White Marsh Point at Eagle Landing apartment complex, officers discovered Killebrew's body. Despite the initial reports of a gunshot, some neighbors in the newly constructed community stated they had not heard anything unusual.
At the time of the incident, police had not identified a suspect and appealed to the public for any information that might lead to an arrest. As of now, the investigation into the death of James T. Joseph Killebrew remains ongoing, and his case is listed among Virginia's unsolved homicides.
