In a quiet Danville, Virginia evening on Sunday, May 21, 2023, the life of 16-year-old Demarius Leshaun McLaughlin was tragically cut short. A student at Chatham High School, the young male was fatally wounded in a shooting that unfolded at an apartment complex on Johnson Street.
