On a late Friday night in Danville, Virginia, a dispute between two acquaintances escalated into a fatal act of violence. On August 2, 2019, officers were called to the scene on Parker Road around 11:20 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered 21-year-old Kymon Haley, a male resident of Milton, North Carolina, lying on the ground outside with gunshot wounds.
