On June 22, 2023, at approximately 7:41 a.m., Richmond Police officers responded to a report of a person down in the 2000 block of Mansion Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 65-year-old Willie Green Jr. unresponsive in an alley, having suffered a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
