In the summer of 2023, the life of 21-year-old Tequane Sanders, a Black male from Roanoke, Virginia, was tragically cut short by gun violence. On July 30, Sanders was fatally shot in an incident that added to the city's growing number of homicides for the year. Remembered as a goofy individual who always had a smile on his face, Sanders was a former student of William Fleming High School and a father to a daughter.
