On a summer night in Roanoke, Virginia, the life of 16-year-old Jamar Avery Muse was tragically cut short. The Black/African American male was attending a party, predominantly with other juveniles, on Patton Avenue Northwest on August 12, 2023, when gunfire erupted. In the chaos that ensued, Jamar was fatally wounded, and another teenager sustained injuries.
