On a Monday night in Roanoke, Virginia, the life of 36-year-old Nathaniel Joseph-Leon Briggs, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On November 23, 2020, police responded to a call about a gunshot wound at a residence in the 2400 block of Centre Avenue NW around 10:15 p.m. Inside, they found Briggs suffering from severe injuries. Despite the immediate medical aid rendered by the officers and the subsequent efforts of Roanoke Fire-EMS, Briggs succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at ...
