On August 28, 2023, a young Black/African American man named Isaiah Ri'Chard Johnson-Wooden, aged 21, was fatally shot in Richmond, Virginia. The incident took place in the 4300 block of Richmond Highway. Following the shooting, there was an attempt by individuals at the scene to transport him to a local hospital in a private vehicle. However, the Richmond Ambulance Authority was called and ultimately transported Johnson-Wooden to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
