In the early morning hours in Richmond, Virginia, the sound of gunshots pierced the pre-dawn quiet. A First Precinct officer on patrol heard the sharp reports and immediately headed toward Rosetta Street to investigate what had happened. Around the same time, a citizen flagged down the officer, urgently reporting that two people had been shot nearby. The officer proceeded to the 2300 block of Rosetta Street, where a grim scene was discovered.
