In the early morning hours of a summer Saturday in Richmond, Virginia, tragedy struck in the Whitcomb Court neighborhood. On June 22, 2024, police were called to the 2300 block of Bethel Street around 3:44 a.m. following a report of a shooting. There, on the porch of a home, they discovered 46-year-old Eric Jackson, a Black male, unresponsive. He had sustained an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
