Elexson Hercules, a 19-year-old Hispanic male, was beginning to forge a new path in his life. A former member of the MS-13 gang, he was actively trying to leave his past behind, a commitment deepened by the recent birth of his daughter. He had even delayed a necessary surgery to be present and supportive for his girlfriend and their new baby. This desire for a better life was tragically cut short on the night of June 21, 2012.
