In the evening hours of April 9, 2014, a young Hispanic male named Joel Leon’s life was tragically cut short at the age of 19. The incident occurred around 7:56 p.m. near the intersection of West 5th Street and Dorchester Street in South Boston. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Leon suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
