In the early hours of June 22, 2014, the life of Michael Lanier, a 24-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short. At approximately 1:47 a.m., Boston police responded to a call for a person shot in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Officers arrived at the rear of 6-8 Ernst Street to find a running vehicle with two men inside, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
