On March 1, 1974, Maurice Dean, a 34-year-old man from Boston, Massachusetts, attended a performance with his companions Thomas Valengavich and Robert Applegate. After the event, as they were leaving, they were stopped on the street by three young men. One of these young men produced a silver-colored handgun and demanded money from the victims.
