On a spring evening in Boston, a domestic disturbance call spiraled into a fatal encounter, leaving a 38-year-old Black man, Remis M. Andrews, dead from a police officer's gunshot. The events of April 5, 2014, began to unfold when a woman dialed 911, her voice filled with distress as she reported an assault by her boyfriend at a residence on Lenox Street in the city's South End.
