On August 11, 2018, Alex Allen, a 55-year-old man, was fatally shot in his home in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The incident occurred while Allen was laying on the couch and watching TV, as reported by his wife, Dola Allen.

The shooting took place in the evening, marking the 34th homicide in Boston for the year 2018 and the fourth in the Mattapan area. Allen was immediately taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
