In the early morning hours of December 3, 2016, the life of 23-year-old Daquon Brown, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston. First responders were called to the scene at the intersection of Alpine Street and River Street for what initially appeared to be a single-car accident. A vehicle had crashed into a residence, and inside, Brown was discovered suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
