On a spring afternoon in Boston, tragedy struck. Daniel Skeens, a 31-year-old African-American man, was shot and killed on May 2, 2014. The incident occurred around 3:14 p.m. in the Mattapan neighborhood, specifically at 9 Gladeside Avenue. When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Skeens on the sidewalk with apparent gunshot wounds.
