Death by Force

On January 22, 2024, 17-year-old Vic'Quan Destin-Thazir Newton, a senior at Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 7:16 p.m. in the 300 block of Michigan Drive, where multiple gunshots were reported. Newton, struck by gunfire, attempted to flee the scene by driving away but lost control of his vehicle, crashing into a ditch near LaSalle Avenue and Armistead Avenue. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
