In the early evening hours of January 25, 2024, the life of James Champion IV, a 43-year-old male from Richmond, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Police were called to the 100 block of West Federal Street at approximately 7:15 p.m. following reports of random gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Champion in a stairwell, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
