On February 12, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., Norfolk police responded to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of East Olney Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 42-year-old Edward K. Collins, a resident of the 300 block of East Olney Road, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Collins was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
