On March 8, 2024, Derrick Knight, a 51-year-old resident of Chesapeake, Virginia, was fatally shot during a road rage incident. The confrontation occurred around 5:40 a.m. at the intersection of South Military Highway and Canal Drive. Responding officers found Knight lying in the roadway; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
