In the early evening of Saturday, June 8, 2024, the life of 21-year-old Khyree Malik Slan was tragically cut short in a shooting in Chesapeake, Virginia. The incident unfolded just before 6:43 p.m. in the 1100 block of Sir Lancelot Drive. When Chesapeake police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Slan suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel transported Slan to a local hospital to be treated for what were described as serious injuries.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Khyree Malik Slan succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The investigation into the shooting was immediately launched by the Chesapeake Police Department.
In the wake of the shooting, the investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year-old male. Due to his status as a minor, the suspect's name has not been publicly released by authorities. He is facing several serious charges, including second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and underage possession of a handgun.
