On a tragic autumn evening, the life of 38-year-old Corey Merchant was cut short by an act of violence in his hometown of Chesapeake, Virginia. On October 17, 2018, Merchant was the victim of a shooting that occurred in the 2000 block of Linster Street. The Chesapeake man was rushed to Norfolk General Hospital with critical injuries.
