On April 15, 2009, 17-year-old Joshua Compton and his friend Mason Jones, aged 16, were shot and killed in the doorway of Joshua's home on Rowland Avenue in Chesapeake, Virginia. Two individuals had come to the door and engaged the teens in conversation for about 10 minutes before opening fire. The suspects fled in a car driven by a third person.
