A young man if found shot to death in his car
On the evening of September 30, 2014, a single-vehicle accident was reported in the Western Branch section of Chesapeake, Virginia. Officers responded to the scene on Dunedin Drive near the intersection of Tasman Court around 9:15 p.m. There, they discovered a silver 1996 Buick that had veered off the road and struck a tree. Behind the wheel was 20-year-old Trevor Baldwin, a Caucasian male, who was found unresponsive. It was soon discovered that Trevor had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
Investigators determined that the gun had been pressed against his skin, indicating the shooter was in very close proximity. The bullet entered through his left arm and pierced his heart, causing an instantaneous death. His vehicle continued to roll after the shooting, eventually coming to rest against the tree. Earlier that day, Trevor had told friends he was going to meet someone before heading to a restaurant, though the location and purpose of the meeting remain unclear.
Trevor Baldwin, who had recently moved to Suffolk, was a graduate of First Flight High School in Kill Devil Hills, where he was a member of the football and lacrosse teams. His family and friends remembered him as a vibrant young man who could light up a room with his smile. Despite the ongoing investigation by the Chesapeake Police Department and a reward of up to $1,500 for information leading to an arrest, the case remains unsolved. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with his death.
