Summary based on 4 sources
Deshon Williams was a 24-year-old Black man from Fort Worth, Texas. Remembered by friends as a "Real Cool dude" who was goofy, outgoing, and humble, he was a father to one child and attended Western Hills High school. He was also known by the nickname "1 D Savage."

On Christmas morning, December 25, 2021, a man named Johnny Edwards went to visit Williams at an apartment complex in west Fort Worth. During the visit, an altercation occurred, and Edwards fired seven shots, striking Williams as he sat on a couch. Around 10 a.m., Williams's girlfriend discovered him at the apartment, located on the 2800 block of Westwind Circle, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

After the shooting, Edwards returned to his own home, changed his clothes, and then went back to Williams's apartment. There, he stole marijuana and a PlayStation 5 from the scene before leaving again. The Fort Worth Police Department’s homicide unit launched an investigation into the death. Two days later, on December 27, detectives released surveillance images of a person of interest to the public, believing this individual may have been one of the last people to have contact with Williams before he was killed. They asked for help from the community in identifying the person in the photos.

Johnny Edwards, 38, was ultimately identified as the perpetrator and arrested for the murder. Following a trial, a Tarrant County jury found Edwards guilty of murdering Deshon Williams. He was sentenced to life in prison. As of the court's decision in September 2025, the case is considered closed.
