On the evening of June 13, 2024, in Roanoke, Virginia, emergency services responded to a vehicle crash in the 2400 block of Cornell Drive NW. Upon arrival, they discovered a car that had collided with a shed. Inside the vehicle, they found the sole occupant, 21-year-old Dontae R. Muse, unresponsive. It was quickly determined that he had sustained a critical gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, Mr. Muse was pronounced dead at the scene.
