In the early minutes of August 3, 2025, a Black/African American male, Isaac Lamont Cunningham, age 43, was found outside a vehicle with gunshot wounds on the 200 block of 12th Street SW in Roanoke, Virginia. Officers responded around 12:28 a.m.; despite their arrival, the man died at the scene. He was identified that day as Isaac “Ike” Lamont Cunningham, age 43, of Roanoke, and the investigation into what led up to the shooting began immediately.
