On July 16, 2024, 37-year-old Richmond resident Daniel Gainyard III was found deceased from a gunshot wound in the 2800 block of Magnolia Street. Responding officers pronounced him dead at the scene.
The following day, a 16-year-old Richmond boy was arrested in connection with Gainyard's death. He was charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a minor.
